Navigating Midjourney “Gratis”: What You Need to Know About Free AI Art

If you have spent any time exploring AI image generators, you have likely run across stunning, hyper-realistic, and deeply artistic creations that can only trace their roots back to one place: Midjourney. Known for its incredible lighting, rich textures, and distinct artistic flair, Midjourney has become a gold standard for digital creators.

Naturally, many users go searching for “Midjourney gratis” (the Spanish, Portuguese, and general European term for “free”) hoping to test out the software without pulling out a credit card.

The landscape of AI art tools changes fast, so let’s break down what the current reality is regarding free access, official trials, and smart alternatives.

The Short Answer: Is Midjourney Free?

Officially, Midjourney is a paid subscription service.

Back when the tool first exploded in popularity, it offered a generous free trial on Discord. However, due to massive server overloads and a spike in demand, that permanent free tier was discontinued. Today, the platform requires a monthly subscription (starting with the Basic plan) to access its main website and Discord generation tools.
