Where Is Song Yiren Now? Career Updates and Recent Status
Chinese actress Song Yiren (also known as Ireine Song), who captured international audiences with her breakout role as Sangsang in the 2018 fantasy hit Ever Night, has remained a frequent topic of public discussion. Known for her distinctive screen presence and extensive television portfolio, her recent career trajectory and public journey offer a clear picture of where she stands today.
Career and Recent Projects
Over the years, Song Yiren has maintained a steady and prolific acting schedule, transitioning smoothly across romance, historical, and modern mystery dramas. Her recent television credits include:
- 2024: Different Princess, My Special Girl, and Her Fantastic Adventures
- 2025: Love Formula, Bound at First Sight, and Six Sisters
- 2026: The Moment I Met You and Medical Examiner Dr. Qin: Doll
Despite industry shifts and the expiration of past agency contracts, she has continued to see new projects released, preserving her footprint in the competitive Chinese entertainment landscape.
Navigating Online Rumors and Public Statements
Beyond her on-screen work, Song Yiren drew intense media and public attention due to a wave of online controversy. Following the tragic death of actor Yu Menglong in a Beijing residential compound in September 2025, various unverified social media rumors began circulating, attempting to link multiple public figures to the incident.
Because Song Yiren had previously rented an apartment in that same residential building complex—though she had already moved out nine months prior—she became the target of unfounded online speculation and heavy cyberbullying.
In response to the mounting pressure and false narratives, Song Yiren published a detailed public statement. She firmly clarified that she was completely absent from the scene, learned of the tragic accident at the same time as the general public, and had relocated long before the event occurred. She also noted the added difficulty of handling the situation independently following the expiration of her management contract. To combat the spreading defamation, legal representation formally stepped in to issue strict statements and pursue legal actions against malicious online harassment.
Current Outlook
Today, Song Yiren maintains a dedicated global fanbase while continuing to navigate her path in the industry. While digital rumors and unverified social media chatter occasionally resurface online, her ongoing project releases and professional resilience demonstrate her continued focus on her acting career.
