What is Hum to Search? Your Ultimate Guide to Finding That Song Stuck in Your Head
We’ve all been there: a catchy melody is bouncing around your brain, but you don’t know the lyrics, the artist, or even the title. For years, the only option was to frantically type gibberish search terms into a browser or ask a friend—hoping they’d recognize your terrible off-key humming.
Enter Hum to Search, an AI-powered feature that lets you find a song simply by humming, whistling, or singing the tune into your phone.
How Does Hum to Search Work?
It might feel like magic, but it’s actually a mix of machine learning and audio fingerprinting.
When you hum or whistle a tune, you aren’t producing the actual instruments or vocals of the original track. Instead, you are recreating the melodic contour—the distinct rise and fall of the notes.
